Bible- New World Translation
Jehovah's Witnesses are allowed to refer to the Bible. However, The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society publishes its own translation of the original Hebrew, Greek, and, Aramaic biblical texts. This is called The New World Translation of the Bible. It was originally produced in 6 volumes but has been revised over time. The most recent revision was in 1984 renaming it the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures and References. It is used exclusively by Jehovah's Witnesses. They view this book as a gift from God. The New World Translation mainly explains the concept/character of God, how to please Him, and how to cope with problems. Moreover, it is translated into common languages for the purpose of evangelism. |
